A unique collaborative project on the theme of water, green energy and the legend of the neck (fossegrim in Norwegian, nixe in German), a mythological shapeshifting water spirit who is an expert violin player.
Fossegrimen is a 1995 "coffee table multimedia project" by the world renowned Knut Bry (photos), Eldgrim Springgaard (poetry) and Erik Wøllo (music). In beautiful pictures, words and music, the neck is tamed and energy from water is portrayed from three different angles.
The CD originally came nested inside the book which contains 140 pages of colorful artistic photos, and the book/CD combination is now a rare object, highly sought after by collectors, music fans and art aficionados.
Composed and produced by Erik Wøllo between 1992 - 94 at Wintergarden Studio, Fredrikstad, Norway. The choir Sylvbandet is conducted by Thor Olav Fjellhøi.
